The parking lot altercation between the entourages of Chris Brown and Frank Ocean earlier this year may end up costing CB over $3 million.
Ocean’s cousin filed a pain and suffering lawsuit against Brown in August alleging the R&B singer encouraged his bodyguard to attack him.
TMZ now reports that Sha’keir Duarte’s complaint against Brown is asking for $1 million for pain, suffering and inconvenience, $1,000,000 for emotional distress, $1 million for punitive damages, and $60,000 for medical expenses.
Brown has already filed a countersuit against Duarte claiming he was the victim in the incident. His suit states it was Duarte that began punching and kicking him first. The damages in that case have not been specified.
Brown is currently admitted to court-ordered rehabilitation after being accused of attacking another man in Washington, D.C. in October and throwing a rock through the window of his mother’s car during an earlier rehab stint last month.
The recent series of erratic behavior exhibited by Gucci Mane over the past few months may come to a disheartening end. Gucci Mane was charged in federal court on December 3rd with two counts of possessing a firearm as a felon and is facing up to 20 years in prison for two separate counts of felony firearm possession.
According to the federal prosecutor’s news release, Gucci Mane is being charged for two separate gun possession incidents involving him making threats towards the police and his own lawyer in September. Coincidentally, these events occurred days after the Atlanta rapper was reportedly dropped from Atlantic Records:
On September 12, 2013, Davis, who was a felon at the time, was found in possession of a firearm. Then, just two days later, on September 14th, he again possessed a firearm different from the earlier gun. On both occasions, Davis displayed the loaded firearm, acted erratically, and made threats to individuals, including police and his attorney
Each felony gun possession charge carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. This is the second time Gucci Mane has been arrested for gun-related issues, with the first stemming from a shooting death of Henry Lee Clark III he committed in 2005.
Chief Keef's bank account is about to get leaner. Another woman has established "Sosa" as the father of her 10-month old child, and is seeking plenty of cash in child support.
Keef's attorney says the rapper admitted he's the father of a 10-month old child .... after being confronted with some pretty conclusive evidence -- his own DNA.
According to the lawyer ... Erica Early went to court in Chicago to establish paternity. The DNA test shows there's a 99.9% chance Keef is the Father.
The 18-year-old rapper is still in court-ordered rehab for his weed smoking ... so he wasn't in court when the judge ordered him to pay Early $2,500 a month in child support ... plus, another $25K lump sum payment for the previous 10 months.
But good luck collecting ... Keef owes thousands of dollars in back child support in ANOTHER paternity case ... and he's not coughing it up willingly.
Let's do the math... Back in late October, Keef paid $11K of the $20.9K he owed one baby momma in child support to avoid the bing. That leaves a balance of about $10K plus the $25K he just got hit with by the newly established baby mama. Add to that the fact that you can't perform while in rehab, and Sosa may have to Google the word "budget."
By our count, the 18-year-old Keef has at least two kids. There is also word that another woman is pregnant with what will be his third child, we think. The struggle is very real.
Atlanta rapper Lil' Scrappy is trying to keep every last penny in his bank account after being accused of creating at least $2,000 in damages to a hotel room this month.
Lil' Scrappy could be on the hook for $2k in damages after a hotel room got TRASHED in an epic afterparty -- but like Shaggy ... Scrap tells TMZ ... it wasn't him. Scrappy performed last Saturday in McAllen,Texas ... and the show's promoter claims after the gig there was a rager back in the hotel room he booked for Scrappy. The promoter says cops showed up because of the noise, and found the room in shambles -- drink stains on walls, a hotel phone submerged in water, and the classiest combo ever ... wine and buffalo wing sauce spewed all over the carpet. (TMZ)
Despite the guilt by association and finger-pointing, Scrappy has denied being responsible for the damages.
Here's the thing ... Scrappy tells us he was only at the party for a few minutes -- so he says the mess ain't his problem. The promoter says he got stuck with the $2,000 tab for the damages -- and is threatening to get lawyers involved if Scrappy doesn't reimburse him immediately.
