The 47 year old Scott was originally diagnosed back in 2007 after undergoing an emergency appendectomy. The Doctors found a "rare" malignancy known as appendiceal cancer, this is according to Touched By Cancer magazine.

Scott also received chemo in 2011 & he announced it on Twitter at the time.

An ESPN spokesperson told USA Today that the longtime sports anchor “plans to continue to work the best he can around his treatments,” (which takes a lot for anyone to do).
