As winter approaches, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is facing a shortage of crews to perform routine road operations. “It certainly makes it harder to do all of the things that we need to do,” said RCOC senior communications manager Craig Bryson. “All of the routine road maintenance activities that you see our workers out there doing: pothole patching, in the winter snow plowing, traffic control -- the front line work that we need to get done.”

Jobs are available through the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the Road Commission for Oakland County, Macomb County, Wayne County and the Washtenaw County Road Commission.

Starting hourly wage of $18.53, jumps up to $24 after six months of employment.
