Go Nuts With These Recipes On National Pistachio Day

Go Nuts!!

Today's National Day Calendar recognizes February 26th as National Pistachio Day. The website encourages nut lovers to have many pistachio's and understand their positive nutritional health benefits . “Pistachios are an excellent source of vitamin B6, copper, and manganese and a good source of protein, fiber, thiamine and phosphorus," says the US Food & Drug Administration.  "Scientific evidence suggests but does not prove that eating 1.5 ounces (42.5g) per day of most nuts, such as pistachios, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.”

All pistachio shells are naturally beige in color, some companies dye nuts red or green for consumer demand.

From burgers, cakes, and tarts, here are some good recipes made with pistachios.
